There are just 3 days until our annual Safe Routes to School Meeting in Des Moines. On January 24 from 0830-1000 am we’re inviting you to attend our exciting meeting. There will be three exciting speakers for the first half of the meeting.

Pam Hoogerwerf and Dr. Cara Hamann will be discussing their Pedal PORTAL pilot. This bicycle study utilized a GPS- enabled helmet cameras to capture the bicycling experience of children and adults. Results presented will include descriptions of typical riding patterns, differences between adults and children. Ashley Christensen serves as our regional SRTS Coordinator for NE Iowa. Ashley will review her guide on the 10 Steps to Creating a Rural, Regional Safe Routes to School Program.

0915-1000 am will be dedicated to our Walking School Bus: Best Practices Discussion. This is where you come in! During this informal discussion, we will share stories; successful and unsuccessful regarding our WSB programs. We would love for you to attend and participate! Come with Questions.
