Iowa Safe Routes to School Program is encouraging schools all across the state of Iowa to participate in our annual “Let’s Walk and Roll” Punch Card Contest. Last year we had approximately 3,600 participants. We’re challenging schools across the state to motivate their students to walk or bike to school for 2 weeks. The purpose of this contest is to motivate healthy lifestyles by encouraging children to walk or bike to school.
Each child will be given a punch card, and every day the child walks or bikes to school, they will receive a punch on their card from a teacher or staff member (designated coordinator). At the end of the 2 weeks, children will turn their punch cards into their coordinator. Coordinators need to mail them to the Iowa Safe Routes to School program.
Punch cards will be processed, tallied, and 20 winners drawn. Awards include; Fitbit’s for walkers, bells for bicycles, and helmets. Awards will be mailed to the designated coordinator or to their school.
Stay tuned for the 2020 Walk and Roll!
