Each year, the Bureau of Nutrition and Health Promotion at the Iowa Department of Public Health recognizes individuals who have shown commitment and passion in the area of physical activity and nutrition. Our Excellence in Physical Activity and Excellence in Nutrition award recipients are recognized at the annual Governor’s Conference on Public Health in both the conference program and a slide show that is shown on the opening day. The 2013 recipient of the Bureau of Nutrition and Health Promotion Excellence in Physical Activity award is Ashley Christensen, SRTS Liaison for Upper Explorerland.
