Iowa Safe Routes to School first bike rodeo in two years was on 4.28.2021 in Spirit Lake. We were super excited to be out educating Iowa’s kids on how to safely ride their bike. The event was all afternoon and the kids had a blast. The local Kiwanis club collaborated with Spirit Lake Police Department and Iowa Safe Routes to School on the education and bike rodeo.

We helped educate about a hundred fourth graders and get them prepared for their annual Bike Ride Around Wall Lake (BRAWL). The BRAWL Ride is the celebratory event for completing their bike safety education and a great way to end the school year. After the rodeo was over we all sat down for apples and a juice box.

Waiting for snacks. (look at all those bikes)

Everyone had a great time and we could not have had a better day. If you are interested in your school or community a bike rodeo or education for kids please reach out to jared@iowabike.org.
